Week 4 Done, 6 More to Go

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

Well, last night’s class went very well. It was emotional and lessons learned were about how a child will feel when they are taken from their family. It was and will be tough, our prayer is that we can show these children who God is and that he is Love.

I am updating some photos today. I would encourage you to check out Beth and Madison Muddy as well as Jayne’s new potty and Rob’s surgery. You can have a Tuesday chuckle.

Love you all. 4 more weeks till summer.

Okay It Has Been Too Long

Monday, May 7th, 2007

Hey everybody, yes, I know it has been a while since I have posted. But I have been busy so please forgive me. We are heading into week 3 of our foster parenting classes. We are prayerfully hopeful that by the end of summer we will have other children entrusted into our care to love. The girls are doing great. Rob had knee surgery a week and a half ago and is healing very well. He bought a cane, he was using a crutch, but a cane is MUCH more manly to hobble around with. He looks quite dashing if I do say so myself. We have had some contractors come out to give us estimates on finishing the basement, enlarging the deck and finally a landscaper to make us a yard instead of what we have now. I don’t think we will be able to swing anything until much later, but at least it gives us a budget to get going on.

We bought a 12 passenger van 2 weeks ago. We didn’t really plan on buying one, or at least right then, but God gave us a FANTASTIC deal and we just couldn’t pass it up. We have had 7 people in it so far as the top number, but give us a bit of time and we will have it JAM PACKED.

Scott and Mary moved into their new house this past weekend. It is beautiful. They have done so much work and it has paid off in spades. The colors are amazing. The style is perfect and they are extremely happy. We had 10 people helping with the move and Mary’s mom, Kathy had the boys with her so 11 total. It was done in three hours and when we stopped by the house yesterday, they were at least 50% thru with the unpacking.

Friday I went to Carowinds Amusement Park with Bethany’s class all day long. We left at 8:15 and got home at 7:00 and it is about a half an hour away. So that was Friday, Scott and Mary moved Saturday, saw Spiderman 3 Saturday evening. Helped clean the old apartment with Mary on Sunday and I rested today.

Okay, this was a long one. I love you and pray for you. Talk to you later…
