Antithesis
Any endeavor will have pitfalls that must be guarded against, and it is wise to consider the history of small groups, identify common pitfalls that have complicated them, and ensure that we militate against these shoals by doing all that is in our power to navigate around them.
I have five specific hazards in mind, but before I present them to you, I’d like to challenge you to identify a few yourselves. Consider what you know of small groups, neighborhood bible studies, etc. and let’s pull together a quick list.
The five that I have in mind are as follows:
Elitism - The belief...

Today we are going to take a quick peek at the book of Jude, weighing in with but one chapter of twenty four versus, it is one of the shortest books in the Bible, yet carries all of the weight of God's word. This letter warns against those who have infiltrated our church, perverting the grace of God and denying Christ. Jude provides us with a number of biblical examples, and then urges those true men of faith to persevere in Godliness and love. Let's read Jude quickly and then I will make some observations on this text. I will be reading from the English Standard Version, so please bear with...

Will loves lists, and is toying with starting up a character on Eve. It seems appropriate to provide him a list of advice regarding Eve!
This list was posted to the Eve Forums by Akita T back in 2007 and continues to be extremely relevant. I perhaps did some minimal editing to correct spelling and things like that, but it is mostly a copy and paste.

A very common question. The Universe of Eve-Online is massive, in a very real sense of the word! The learning curve for Eve is Epic!
All fun and games aside though, this is a very difficult question to answer, many opinions abound and a number of those opinions are backed with a lot of number crunching to “prove” themselves. Akita T has perhaps one of the best known answers to the question in her post Guide & FAQ : New character creation. While her post is pushing two years old, it remains a standard. However, that standard is beginning to show it’s age. The introduction of Factional...

Will started this whole thing off by putting together one of his lists, and then asking his friends to do the same. Tommy put together a list as well, and I began to feel the compulsion to follow along. I’m not really certain how this will turn out, and I don’t even know if the list is to be “ranked” or simply an unordered list of “things”.
I’ve decided to go with an unordered list of 25 things that you may or may not already know about me, but I feel might possibly be noteworthy.

The Overview (pictured left) in Eve is is a vital tool for all Pilots. Regardless of whether you are a Trader, Miner, or Warrior – when you undock that ship, the Overview tells you more about what is going on around you than anything else. Additionally, it is one of the easiest places to interact with other objects in space. As such, it’s important to master the configuration of this little beast we call "The Overview”. Unfortunately, it’s not a straightforward nor easy process. Like much of the Eve-Online Interface, it is enveloped in arcane references to technical terms and then...

I’ve played Eve-Online for since October of 2004 – my only character in that time has been Redick and I’ve been a complete and utter Carebear (someone who doesn’t care for Player versus Player Combat – see Eve Lexicon). I played quite actively for the first year – working within Taggart Transidimensional. I was even a Director within the corporation in charge of Human Resources, particularly focused on recruiting.
